Weed Mixers (or What do I mix with my pot?)

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Dear julius:

What should I mix my weed with?

Personally, I'd recommend using more weed. You won't even notice the taste! ;-)

Right. Bad jokes aside, there are a number of things that people choose to mix with their Cannabis. Here are a few of the better ones:

  • Tobacco - one of the most popular herbs to smoke, tobacco's a common choice for a mixer. Rolling tobacco provides a smooth, consistent burn, and many people enjoy the resulting smoke. Personally, I'm not a fan of tobacco, but that's out of health concerns (slash paranoia). Adding rolling tobacco to a spliff can make it much easier to roll, especially when rolling with sticky or solid buds.

Layout Changes / Speed Tweaks

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

With the help of a very talented young web designer, the site layout has been optimized once again. It should load even faster now, and actually be tolerable to browse using dial-up.

If you notice any problems or weird layout ugliness, please let me know.

In Peace,
Julius

Marijuana and Your Breath

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

hey julius does marijuana smoke smell on your breath?

No. I always brush my teeth ;-)

More seriously, yes. After you smoke marijuana, it is usually pretty easy to smell it on your breath. Burnt cannabis has a very strong, very distinct odor, and is probably pretty obvious to anyone who smells your breath after you smoke. Even if the person in question can't pick up the odor of marijuana itself, it is likely that they'll notice a smokey smell on your breath after you've smoked.

Being Treated for Marijuana Intoxication

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Hey Julius: Sometimes I read about someone being "treated for marijuana ingestion" or "treated for marijuana intoxication". What does that mean?

I've read this before, often in news articles discussing someone who's... well... smoked a lot of pot. I tried to find references in various medical textbooks as to the recommended treatment for "marijuana intoxication". Unfortunately, my search came up with very little. As it turns out, there's not really much "treatment" per se -- the usual course of action is something like this:

  1. Calm the patient down if they are anxious/panicking.

Julius' Favorite Strain

Monday, February 11th, 2008

Do you have a favourite strain?

Yes, I do. My all time favorite smoke is Lemon Stinky by Crazy X Seeds. It's a mostly-Indica blend with a gorgeous citrus smoke and a clean finish. It's got a pretty strong head high though, so if I'm gonna smoke some I'll blend my smoke with an softer strain to add a stronger body stone and cool the high some. It's a nice compact bud-laden plant too -- so it's a great choice for a small indoor grow.
